AEGEE does not exist only in Mannheim. There are many AEGEE-groups, our partner antennas active for you at various universities all over Europe.
This is helpful, if you ever want to go abroad looking for contacts and more... ;-)
Who can participate in European events?
All events of AEGEE antennas in Europe are open to all students in Europe. Only condition: you have to be a member of AEGEE. The Membership fee is only 12,50 € per semester. As a member you can register for all events, conventions and the AEGEE Summer University project. The application form for AEGEE-Mannheim you can download here!
How to sign up for an event?
In the "Calendar of Events" on the AEGEE-Europe homepage, you find a list of all events in the coming months. For further details you normally find in the event description. Often a motivation letter is required. The motivation letter is a brief "Letter of application", why it is so important to invite you. Thus, the organizers simply want to get-to-get-to-know more about you and the motivation letter is a selection criterion if more people apply than places are offered. But don’t be afraid: Normally nobody expects you to write more than 10-15 lines.
What can I expect from a European event?
European events of AEGEE select students from all over Europe with different studies. This offers the variety to meet an incredible number of interesting people and learn a lot about other cultures. The sequence of events obviously varies greatly and depends on the type of event. For instance during an AGORA 800 people - or even more stay in a gym, during our Summer University in Mannheim our guests slept in tents, somewhere on Summer Universities you stay hostels or hotels. Accommodation and meals are included in participation fee. Some weekend events costs 10€, a two-week Summer University costs at least 120€. Only your travels you have to organize independently and bear the additional costs.
On this map you can find all the AEGEE antennas in Europe. All events you find in the AEGEE-Europe Event Calendar.
