CD on Track

As part of the CD’s trip to visit most of the antennae of AEGEE last weekly CD-member Tekla Hajdu has visited us in Mannheim and talked with us about AEGEE in general and our development as an antenna. The nice meeting in the N1 lounge was also joined by Mareike, our current Network Commissioner from AEGEE Heidelberg.

The talks mainly focused on three areas: The work of the Comité Directeur in Brussels and the jobs of the different CD members. Tekla could give us valuable insights in the CD’s working procedures, funds, and daily live. Did you know that the CD is not funded by the member’s fees but by European funds? We also talked about financial matters concerning event organisation, which where the second focus that evening. Tekla as former board member of AEGEE Budapest offered us a lot of advice on the issue. Also our Netcommy Mareike pointed out a number of interesting possibilities (who has ever heard of all things you can do with Erasmus+?). Last but not least we discussed the role of AEGEE as an NGO and how AEGEE can influence European policy decisions. As a long standing organisation a lot of different channels are open to us that are used to advance our goal of an open Europe.

Besides the thematic things the evening was a lot of fun and nice Cocktails. We are looking forward to meet Tekla again somewhere in Europe.

Drinks and food were good, too!
